Freedom of Expression and Open Inquiry

Since 1863, Bryant University has been defined by the success of its graduates and their drive to create a better future. Guided by a mission to “educate and inspire students to discover their passion and become innovative leaders with character around the world,” Bryant has enabled generations of students to lead with purpose, integrity, and impact.  This legacy continues, sustained by a vibrant and engaged academic community.

We believe that a thriving academic community is built on mutual respect and the exchange of diverse perspectives. The Vision 2030 strategic plan reaffirms ˿Ƶ commitment to learning across differences and ensuring that every individual feels valued, respected, and supported. As such, we are dedicated to sustaining a campus where scholarly inquiry is protected, where community members are encouraged to express their views, and where diverse lived experiences enrich our collective learning.  At ˿Ƶ, we measure the impact of education by how it empowers students to think critically, engage deeply with complex ideas, and form perspectives grounded in respect for others.

In this spirit, we will continue to foster an environment where academic discourse is guided by mutual respect and understanding.  As we engage in conversations that challenge and enlighten, we remain committed to nurturing the wellbeing of all and promoting engaged, constructive dialogue. Above all, the success of our students, and our responsibility to serve and support them, remains our highest priority and guiding purpose.
