New Student Programs

Your success at ˿Ƶ begins with a strong foundation. From Orientation in June to Welcome Week in the fall, our new student programming is designed to immerse you in the Bryant experience, helping you explore new opportunities and find your footing before classes begin. Our current student leaders, including Orientation and Welcome Week leaders, will guide and support you through each session. We provide resources, support, and information with campus partners to ensure a seamless transition into campus life.

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is your best introduction to life at ˿Ƶ. It’s where you’ll connect with fellow students, staff, and faculty, learn about essential resources and opportunities, and discover our engaging campus community. Orientation is required for all new and transfer students and optional for family members.

During Orientation, you’ll meet our Orientation leaders, who will help you explore and adjust to campus life. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, learn about exciting events, and connect with your peers.

“Orientation allows our students to connect with faculty, staff, and peers and forge lifetime connections,” says Dr. Inge-Lise Ameer, Vice President for Student Affairs.

2026 New Student Orientation Dates

  • Session 1: June 11 – 12, 2026
  • Session 2: June 15 – 16, 2026
  • Session 3: June 22 – 23, 2026

Registration for New Student Orientation will open up in May. Check back then for more details!

Transfer Student Orientation

Transfer Student Orientation is a half-day program for all incoming transfer students. During this program, you will meet other incoming transfer students, meet with academic advisors regarding your class schedule, receive your laptop, learn about necessary resources for incoming students, and more.

Welcome Week

Welcome Week is your chance to dive deeper into the Bryant experience. This week is designed to help you connect with people, offices, and opportunities on campus while familiarizing yourself with your new environment. Guided by our Welcome Week leaders, you’ll participate in activities, presentations, and programs that set the stage for success.

2026 Welcome Week will be held August 27 - August 30.

At Orientation you will:

  • Receive your schedule and learn more about ˿Ƶ unique customizable curriculum.
  • Become more familiar with the campus.
  • Meet many of your classmates and make connections with staff and faculty.
  • Gain an understanding of community standards and expectations.
  • Learn about academic expectations, campus life, leadership and involvement opportunities, technology, dining options, financial well-being, health and wellness, and much more!

At Orientation you will:

What resident hall do students spend the night in during Orientation?

Orientation takes place in Bristol House and Barrington House. Spending the night in these first-year halls allowing students to see what it is like to stay in what could be their residence hall for the year. Only students will spend the night during orientation. 

What happens if I cannot attend orientation? (Orientation is required for incoming students)

We have a virtual orientation that will be held on August 1 for those who are unable to attend do to travel. Additionally, there is an Orientation Canvas page for you to access more supplementary information.

Who attends New Student Orientation, is it just students?

It is required for students to attend orientation; however, there is an optional family program that runs parallel to the student program. Families will attend sessions designed to inform them about ˿Ƶ resources and help them support their students during their first year of college.

I have to travel from a distance, and may need to arrive a day early, what can I do?

Reach out to our New Student Programs Office at orientation@bryant.edu and we will work with you to try an accommodate this request.

When will I register for fall classes if I am an incoming freshman?

Your first semester classes at ˿Ƶ will be planned by your Undergraduate Advisor. Academic Advisors meet with the incoming students during New Student Orientation share how to find and read your class schedule. Family and Friends Weekend

What is Family and Friends Weekend?

Family and Friends Weekend takes place in November each year. This weekend is an exciting opportunity for parents and other family members of current ˿Ƶ students to visit campus and enjoy the community and spirit that ˿Ƶ students experience daily! 

Family members are invited to Bryant to tour the campus, meet other families, attend a football game, sample the dining hall, partake in a delicious outdoor barbeque, shop the on-campus harvest market, and more! Students can showcase their home away from home to their families and involve them in campus life.
