Tanzila M. Upama

Tanzila Upama earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She went on to complete her Master’s in Accounting at the University of New Mexico and her Ph.D. in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), credentialed by the State of Illinois Board of Examiners.

Before joining Bryant University, Dr. Upama taught financial and managerial accounting courses at her doctoral degree-granting institution. In addition to her academic experience, she has professional experience working in the financial sector in Bangladesh.

Her research interests include firm life cycle, voluntary disclosure, financial reporting quality, and auditor expertise. She has also been recognized for her research excellence, receiving the Best Doctoral Paper Award at the American Accounting Association (AAA) 2023 Southeast Region Meeting.
