Ryan M Sonder

Ryan Sonder, Lecturer with the Department of History, Literature, and the Arts, received his Ph.D. in Humanities from Salve Regina University in 2018. Recipient of the University's Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022, Professor Sonder's pedagogy remains deeply committed to fostering interdisciplinary, innovative, and joyful learning communities in seminars such as Narrative Theory, Nonfiction Studies, Contemporary Literature, Environmental Humanities, Philosophy of Technology, and The Image of Business in Literature. His current research explores the intersections of game studies and critical pedagogy. In addition to his teaching and research, Sonder has held the position of Associate Faculty Fellow with The Center for Teaching Excellence and chaired the College of Arts and Sciences' Pedagogy and Faculty Development Initiative. He co-advises the University chapter of Delta Alpha Pi (International Honors Society for Students with Disabilities), serves on the IDEA and Day of Understanding leadership teams, and is a Board Member of the New England Faculty Development Consortium.
